The 2015 American saga Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the seventh film of the Skywalker saga. It takes place thirty years after Return of the Jedi. The story follows the search for Luke Skywalker and the fight in the Resistance. This was the first film in the Star Wars series that creator George Lucus was not extensively involved with. He served as a creative consultant in only the early stages.
